You’re more than a mum. It’s date night time!

Date night after giving birth doesn’t have to be daunting. Whether it’s a night out with the girls, or a romantic meal for two, it’s nice to get out of the house sans baby and feel a little bit like your old self.

We’ve put together our top 5 suggestions on how to feel date night ready.

There’s no rush.

Celebs such as Chrissy Teigan went for their first date night 10 days after giving birth, whilst for other people it can be at least 6 months. Go at your own pace and don’t feel forced to go out if you don’t want to.

There’s no rules.

Date night can consist of anything and be anywhere. You wanna drop baby off at your parents and lay on the sofa in your comfies drinking (hot) tea? You do it! You wanna get super dressed up and drink the night away with your partner/besties? You go girl!

Take it slow.

If your new to the baby game, you’ve probably not had a proper drink in a long, long time. Make sure you know your limits as before you know it, you’ll of knocked back a large vino tinto at dinner and be dancing on the tables by 8pm. It’s all about moderation.

Lose the Guilt.

Mum guilt is a thing. You know it, we know it. Leaving your baby for the first time can be terrifying. But don’t worry, they’ll still be there when you get back. Just think, you’ll probably appreciate them more after some time away – especially if they screamed the house down that morning.

Treat Yo’ self.

It’s been a while since you donned on a nice frock. Treat yourself to some new and exciting to wear for your big night out. Your body may have changed a lil’ since baba was born, so make sure you are comfortable in what you’ve got on and feeling fabulous.

What did you do for your first ‘date night’ after baby was born?
