Just 10 minutes to yourself


If you had 10 minutes to yourself, what would you do?

This is like the million dollar question isn’t it? Has anybody asked you this question before? What does it even mean? If YOU had 10 minutes to YOURSELF?

It doesn’t include; baby, toddler, insanity, screaming, tantrum, sleep deprivation or poo explosion. Did you even know other things existed?

Well yes, and actually the most important thing is you (and yourself!) Have you ever heard the expression, “You can’t pour from an empty cup?” It’s so important each day that you do something for yourself, no matter how small, just watch your positivity soar! As a mum it is sometimes impossible to get time out, but on the rare occasion you do, Cosatto have some tips.

We just want you to close your eyes now and imagine what would you want to do right now with 10 minutes to yourself? (Yes you can choose going to the toilet for a poo in peace…we know this is a pure luxury!)

Perhaps a relaxing face mask to relieve those tired eyes that show the story of 10 months of no sleep. You know that NO AMOUNT of make-up can make you look any less of a heroin addict with those dark circles under your eyes!

Exercise – What is this you ask? Well that deflated balloon mid-rift could really benefit from this. Just try and squeeze in a few sit ups and watch the results happen. Just try and do 25 sit ups a day. Sit-ups are these things that the cat is doing below…. I didn’t know what they were either!

If baby will not nap, you could do 10 minutes yoga with them. Yoga has become very mainstream now as more and more people practice ‘mindfulness’.

Put on your favourite music and dance around the house….this is highly recommended..yes we all do it!

Grab a well-earned cuppa and a book….our much recommended read is “Parenting the shit out of life” by the lovely Mummy Blogger, Mother Pukka, and Daddy Pukka.

And lastly, if you don’t have a single drop of energy to do anything for 10 minutes, you could just eat in peace for 10 minutes. Did you know that ‘desserts’ is ‘stressed’ spelt backwards!
