Can I have a refund?

As the item is repairable, we are offering to send any affected customer a replacement buckle at our own cost. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.

I don’t want to change the buckle myself.

We understand that you may be concerned. Full instructions, including a step by step video are avaialble to assist you in fitting the buckle. If you feel you require any additional support in addition to these then you can contact us for further help and we will help guide you through it.

My car seat isn’t affected but I am worried and now want a new improved buckle.

It says the risk is small, have there been any injuries?

No there have not been any injuries. The issue is a discoverable fault. We have successfully identified the affected batches and from these batches only a very small quantity of seats are actually affected.

Does this affect other models of car seats?

No. The issue only affects the AIA and AIA rotate. No other products within our range are affected. We have successfully identified affected batches and from these batches only a very small quantity of seats are affected. All of our products undergo rigorous testing both at the manufacturer and here at Cosatto HQ, as well as at third party accredited laboratories. This approach enables us to quickly identify and react to any quality issues which may arise.

How can I be sure my car seat is safe to use?

We have successfully identified affected batches and from these batches only a very small quantity of seats are actually affected. All of our products undergo rigorous testing both at the manufacturer and here at Cosatto HQ, as well as at third party accredited laboratories. This approach enables us to quickly identify and react to any quality issues which may arise. If you follow the instructions and the video and replace the buckle, then there will be no further safety concerns with your car seat.

How can I be sure I’ve fitted the buckle correctly?

We have created instructions and a step by step video to help guide you in the fitting of the replacement buckle. If you follow these and replace the buckle, then there will be no further safety concerns with your car seat (Dee’s list - if the customer contacts cuddle and does not have confidence in how they have fit the buckle then it will be sensible to let them return the seat for us to check, this is the only safe way for us to safely verify)

Why has this happened I thought you checked all car seats are safe?

All of our products are fully tested and comply with all relevant UK and European safety standards and legislation.  We identified the issue with the buckle under our normal due dilligence processes. As part of continuous product improvement, we have addressed the issue and as a responsible manufacturer we have taken the decision to offer a replacement buckle to all potentially affected customers.

What assurances can you give that this won’t happen with any other car seats?

All of our products are fully tested and comply with all relevant UK and European safety standards and legislation. This is complimented via rigorous testing both at the manufacturer and Cosatto HQ, as well as at third party accredited laboratories. It is through our exacting standards as a business and our due diligence processes that the issue with the buckle was spotted and the affected batches successfully identified. We have been working very closely with our factory to ensure that there is no repeat of this issue and we have full confidence that the issue is isolated to the products and batches we have identified.

What is actually wrong with them?

some of the plastic materials used in the manufacture of some of the buckles did not meet the exacting standards set out in our quality and safety protocol and this has led to potentially inconsistent performance of the buckle itself. There is a discoverable fault with the buckle.

How can I check my car seat is affected?
How many car seats have the issue?

From all of our car seat ranges, there are only 2 models affected. Within the identified batches there are a very small number of pieces affected. For further info see the safety notice. 

How urgent is this?

We would advise that you stop using any affected car seat until you have received and fitted the new buckle. 

I have just seen your notice and I NEED to use my car seat tomorrow, what do I do?

We would advise that you stop using any affected car seat until you have received and fitted the new buckle. We have changed our operating hours to ensure that we can service as many customers with as little disruption as possible. At the point of ordering your buckle, it will be confirmed when your buckle will be received. (Insert link to order buckle)  

Are certain colourways affected?

The issue is relating to production batches and not colourways.

We have changed our operating hours to ensure that we can service as many customers with as little disruption as possible. Please use our dedicated email address which will be manned 6 days per week. In order to help ensure we can respond to all customers as quickly as possible, please do not send multiple emails or contact us via multiple channels, we will aim to respond to your email within 24 hours.

Are you contacting affected customers?

We will be trying to contact as many customers as possible however due to gdpr we have been unable to identify all customers. Therefore we are asking for people to contact us directly if they think they have a car seat from the affected batches. 

Is the new i rotate affected?

No, the new i rotate is not affected. 

How is your new and improved buckle better than the old one? Do you use this on all of your models?

As part of our continuous improvement process, we have produced a new batch of buckles which does not have the same inconsistency which was found in the faulty batch.
